Wenn du bedenkst:
Chip-Resetter mit Batterie: 15 Euro
Lötkolben: 5 Euro
Lötdraht: 1 Euro
Netzteil: 5 Euro
macht 26 Euro gegen 45 Euro, 19 Euro Unterschied. Die Bastlerei ist es für einen üblichen Refill-Shop-Besitzer wohl kaum wert.
Noch dazu kostete der Redsetter von Sudhaus 25 Euro, also 20 Euro Unterschied zur Netzteilversion.
Wenn es bei Peach ähnlich ist, dann wird der Resetter mit Netzteil 35 Euro kosten, also durchaus okay, im Vergleich dann 26 Euro für Bastler, 35 Euro für Netzteilbesteller, 9 Euro Unterschied...

Vielleicht ist es sinnvoll, das mit einem externen Batteriehalter zu tun, dann kann man keinen Schlag kriegen...

dann kann man die vielleicht mit Eneloops betreiben, hat also seine "sichere" aufladbare Lösung... wenn die Spannung von 2,4 V ausreicht... ansonsten mit normalen Batterien, das sollte auch einige Zeit halten.

Wenn man den Abstand beachtet:
August 2005: Einführung des Pixma iP4200.
April 2008: Einführung des RedSetters. (2 Jahre, 6 Monate später)
August 2008 (?): Einführung des Pixma iP4600 (4 Monate später)
Januar 2010: Einführung des Peach Resetters. (1 Jahr, 5 Monate später)

Das heißt also, dass es ab Mai 2010 neue Canon-Drucker geben wird *ggg*.

Andererseits:
- Die Entwicklung des Resetters wurde um 1 Jahr und 1 Monat verkürzt. Da bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Entwicklung in Zukunft in die Richtung geht, dass die Resetter so schnell verfügbar sind, dass sich das Verchippen nicht mehr lohnt.
- Im September 2009 ist der Pixma IP4700 herausgekommen, mit den gleichen Patronen. Das hat dann Canon zumindest am falschen Fuß erwischt, weil sie jetzt noch die ganze Palette von iP4700-Druckern verkaufen müssen, bevor sie einen neuen Drucker auf den Markt bringen. Oder vielleicht stampfen sie ja die 4700er-Reihe ein *ggg*
