Habe mir jetzt für 22 Euro einen USB-betriebenen Resetter bestellt. Erspart den ganzen Ärger. Ich hoffe, dass alles funktioniert.

irgendwann ist es soweit, der Resetter funktioniert nicht mehr.

Bevor man jetzt Panik bekommt, einfach mal einen anderen Tintentank probieren. Manchmal ist der Chip defekt und nicht der Resetter - d.h. andere Tanks lassen sich ohne Probleme resetten. In diesem Fall hilft nur ein neuer Chip - sprich ein neuer Tank.

Wenn sich gar keine Chips mehr resetten lassen, dann ist meistens nur die Batterie leer.

Wichtig:

Da die meisten Anwender keine Lithiumzellen, einfach so - zu Hause rumliegen haben: Es ist KEINE gute Idee die Zelle aus einem anderen Gerät zu nehmen. Der Hintergrund ist folgender: Die Zellen haben direkt nach der Herstellung eine etwas höhere Zellspannung als angegeben. Statt glatten 3 Volt liefern sie meist 3.2 Volt. Nach einigen Jahren Lagerdauer oder als Gebrauchbatterie liegt die Zellspannung meistens bei 3 Volt. Dies ist für den Resetter zu wenig - für viele andere Geräte z.B. Mainboards für die RTC Uhr und CMOS Datenerhalt jedoch ausreichend.

Gebrauchte Mainboard Batterien laufen oft nur kurz im Resetter, d.h. man bekommt einen Reset damit hin, danach versagt der Resetter wieder.

Beim Kauf sollte man drauf achten, Zellen zu bekommen die noch 3 oder besser 4 Jahre Guthaben als Haltbarkeitsdatum haben. Diese Zellen sind knackfrisch und lassen den Resetter wieder seine ca. 400 Zyklen laufen.
